Operation Red Nose is pleased with this weekend’s numbers.
Spokesperson Andrea Johnson says they delivered 111 safe rides home for party-goers on Friday, which is just down from 124 in 2012.
Red Nose gave 163 rides on Saturday, compared with 183 on that same night in 2010, their best night ever.
“We are doing pretty good this season,” Johnson says. “We only need 951 rides to reach the 10,000th ride mark. with 630 rides so far, we’re confident we will reach that ride total this year.”
Johnson says Red Nose is in need of more volunteers as soon as possible, because the holiday parties are only going to get more common and volunteers need to have an RCMP record check before they get behind someone’s wheel on OPR’s behalf.
