The Prince George Cougars extended their win streak to four games with a come from behind 3-1 victory over the Everett Silvertips. The 17-15 Cougars scored three unanswered goals in the third period, including the winner from Tate Olson with just 5:05 left. Jansen Harkins and Chase Witala (empty net) also tallied for the Cats, who were outshot 27-20. The Cougars visit the Spokane Chiefs tonight (Saturday). The Chiefs had three unanswered goals in the third to win 4-3 Friday over the Portland Winterhawks. P.G. is just two points behind second place Victoria in the BC Division.

–Despite having nine regulars out of the line-up, the Prince George Spruce Kings picked up a point in a 3-2 loss in double overtime to the Merritt Centennials. Jeremiah Luedtke scored both goals for the 17-12-0-3 Spruce Kings, including one with just 15 seconds left in the third period before 1,024 fans. Jake Clifford fired home
the winner for Merritt at 2:08 of the second overtime. The Spruce Kings conclude an 8-game home-stand tonight (Saturday) against the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Prince George is tied with Langley for second in the BCHL Mainland Division, six points behind the Chilliwack Chiefs.

–The Major Midget leading Cariboo Cougars, winners of their last 10, are home against the North Island Silvertips today (Saturday) at 4:45 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. at Kin 1.

–The Prince George Northern Cougars female midget hockey team has a record of two wins, a loss and a tie after four games at a tournament in Wilcox, Saskatchewan. The Northern Cougars had a draw and a loss on Friday.

–In Senior Girls basketball (Friday): Cedars Christian whipped the D.P. Todd Trojans 74-36.
