Sports injuries are all too common, but a workshop coming to Prince George this weekend will help you learn to help others.
Sport Med BC along with Northern Health and other organizations are putting on the workshop revolving around concussion management and preventing injuries.
Dr. Anne Pousette is the Executive Director of Wellness Promotion and explains some of the things you will learn.
“It talks about the things a coach would need and a parent should consider,” she says. “Have enough rest, eat properly, adequate fluids, proper warm up, things that we think are fairly common sense, but when they’re packaged together, it gives people a mental checklist on injury prevention.”
The intent is to provide more training for more volunteers ahead of the Winter Games, though Pousette says anyone can attend the workshop and will find it useful long after the games are over.
Registration is $15 for all workshops and they all start at 6:00 p.m..
