Prince George continues to melt weather records

Prince George has shattered another weather record.

Environment Canada reports that Wednesday’s recorded high got up to 11.4 degrees, breaking the old record of 7.2 set back in 1946.

It’s the second day this week that we have had record broken.

Environment Canada isn’t sure whether we’ll break any records Thursday, with the all-time high for December 11th set at 9 degrees in 1980, Thursday’s high is only expected to get up to 4 degrees.

Meteorologist Doug Lundquist says the cause behind our December “heat wave” stem from storms battling the coast. For more on that, check out our previous story.
