PG RCMP find rifle near trail after Sunday shooting

An SKS-type rifle was found on a trail running through the VLA Sunday night.

The discovery comes after Prince George police received several phone calls of shots fired between the 2400 blocks of Oak Street and Victoria Street before 9PM.

According to RCMP, the gun was found by multiple officers and a Police Dog Team along the Centennial Trail between Oak and Pine Street, but no suspects were found.

Police add there have been no injury reports filed as a result of the shooting.

The investigation is on-going and anyone with more information is asked to call the Prince George RCMP at (250) 561-3300, or Crime-Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
