New signs point the way downtown

A set of new sign-age targeted at pedestrians and tourists is going up in Prince George.

The five wayfaring signs are spread around downtown PG and depict walking distances to landmarks and Canada winter games venues.

Mayor Lyn Hall says this a small step to encourage walk-ability downtown;

“Well what were trying to do is create a sense downtown that everything is within walking distance,” says Hall, “there is a number of sights and a number of activities during the games in the downtown area that are really accessible to anyone and you can walk from one event to the next, its really important we advertise that.”

The five signs have a price tag of 40 thousand dollars and will be updated to promote downtown events after the games.
