A local woman is creating quite the tradition in Prince George.
The public artwork on Victoria and 20th has once again been decorated with colourful, hand knit toques by an artist who prefers to remain anonymous.
“It’s an artistic outlet, it’s something I can give. Anyone who needs one can take one,” she said.
The hatter said she’s been putting the toques up for five years, and it’s no easy task; some of the heads require a ladder to reach, and in order to remain anonymous, she goes out at night to do the deed.
“Don’t they look better now?” She said, gesturing to the finished product.
According to her, in the past years, most of the hats were taken within a couple of months, she said she sometimes sees people wearing them around town.
“I just want to help and put a smile on someone’s face.”
