UPDATE: Pedestrian in hospital after morning accident in PG

UPDATE – 12PM:

A teenage girl was struck this morning in a collision hear the university Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC).

Prince George RCMP responded to the incident after 7AM where a truck heading eastbound on 15th Avenue hit a pedestrian at the Carney Street crosswalk.

The driver stopped and called 9-1-1 and the victim has been sent to UHNBC to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A violation ticket was also issued to the driver for Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian.

Police are reminding everyone to use extra precaution.

 

UPDATE – 9AM:

The Prince George RCMP confirmed an accident took place at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Carney Street Thursday morning.

A vehicle turning at the intersection struck a pedestrian who was wearing dark clothing.

According to police, the driver remained at the scene and the pedestrian was taken to the hospital to be checked out for any injuries.

More information is expected to be released later today.

 

UPDATE – 8:10AM:

The incident has been cleared.

We await further information from police.

The Prince George RCMP are currently on scene of an incident at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Carney from this morning (Thu).

There are unconfirmed reports from listeners that a pedestrian may have been hit.
