PG Fire Rescue respond to blaze on Westwood Drive

Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a reported Commercial Fire Alarm activated call on the 3200 block of Westwood Drive. The fire took place around 9:40am Wednesday.

A total of 11 firefighters from three halls found an apartments sprinkler system had activated and there was a fire inside one of the suites.

Crews extinguished the blaze with help from the sprinkler system and kept the fire contained to the one suite. Some water damage was caused before the sprinklers could be deactivated.

Damage to the suite and other affected suites is estimated at $70,000 and the cause is under investigation. No injuries have been reported.
