Safety on the forefront for International Education Week at CNC

The death of an international CNC student earlier this year has prompted the school to release videos on safety.

Last spring, a student was struck by an impaired driver on Highway 97 near the school, the City of Prince George and the Ministry of Transportation have since erected a fence in the high-risk area.

“The impact of those students on the college, the classroom, the community is huge and positive, so we want to celebrate our diversity and celebrate our students,” said Barbara Old,  Director of Community and International Education.

According to her, the videos will be focused on pedestrian safety and will be released internally before showing at Famous Players.

The subject is of particular interest this week as International Education Week began. The school will hosting six different events, including an Aboriginal and International Potluck as well as a Diwali Celebration.
