YMCA to raise money at Boogie with the stars

Boogie with the Stars is back this year, and the Prince George YMCA is hoping to raise $10,000 for their Strong Kids Team.

The event is part of a bi-annual New Year’s Eve gala event held at the Prince George Civic Centre and this will be the first year that the YMCA is participating.

The YMCA Strong kids Team is sponsored by Tab Baker of Remax, who kicked off the fundraising by donating $2500.

“We are so grateful to be a part of this event and for the support we have already received. We are especially thankful for Tab’s sponsorship and ongoing support of the services we offer to kids in our community. Participating in Boogie with the Stars is the perfect opportunity to showcase the amazing charitable work that we do at the Y,” said manager of philanthropy, Stephanie Deol.

Members of the community can purchase tickets to the event and donate to support the YMCA Strong Kids Team. All donations to team YMCA Strong Kids will go to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, which allows one in five children and families to receive financial assistance to participate in YMCA camps and programs.
