It’s the 50th year for the Community Arts Council and this weekend is its 42nd annual Studio Fair.
Project Manager Lisa Redpath said the diversity in art you can find there is different each year.
“Everything from traditional arts is represented, we also have culinary arts which is half of the fair. People love the food, these are artisan-made foods. We’re always trying to expand that and bring something new to the community.”
She added at 42 years strong, the fair has shown no signs of slowing down.
“Every year for the past nine years, since I’ve been doing it, we’ve been breaking our gate numbers so it just gets bigger and bigger and we’ve expanded upstairs in the last five years.”
This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Community Arts Council. Money goes into general operations and programming. Redpath also said it goes into the four major events they put on each year and the new facility the CAC is moving into downtown in the next two years.
