Prince George residents living in multifamily homes and apartment buildings will be able to enjoy curbside recycling pick up next year.
The announcement was made Thursday morning at the Civic Centre in collaboration with the Canada Winter Games. After the Canada Winter Games in February, the recycling infrastructure and bins for games venues will be adopted for multifamily buildings and apartments.
Mayor Lyn Hall says the Winter Games are a good springboard to expand recycling in PG;
“The 2015 games are such a showcase, I think this is an opportunity for us to partner with the 2015 games to spread sustainability around the entire community.”
Multi Material BC is providing 550 recycling receptacles to the Canada Winter Games. Venues such as the CN Centre will retain their recycling programs after games.
