A fundraiser tonight gathers support from the community to fight Enbridge and its proposed Northern Gateway oil pipeline in court.
Spokesperson Mary Macdonald with the Sea to Sands Conservation Alliance says $235,000 has already been raised and now their goal is $300,000 by December 31st.
“It’s expensive to go to court, we want to be able to support First Nations, because of the cost of going to court, they’re up against Enbridge and the federal government, grass-roots people just want to be able to come out and throw our support behind local First Nations,” she says.
Macdonald says the event will feature music and food.
The “Pull Together” fundraiser starts at 6:30 at the Prince George Native Friendship Centre Hall.
Tickets are available at Books & Co.
