WATCH:
Almost constant illegal dumping has forced a Prince George family to close public access to their property.
Volunteers from the Spruce City Wildlife Association, in partnership with Wood Wheaton, cleaned 2,500 pounds of trash and recycling from the Bellamy family’s property on Noranda Road over the weekend.
“The landowner has said enough is enough, for 40 years they’ve allowed people to access the property and too many people have taken advantage of that and ripped up the environment and illegally dumped. We’re going to be pulling access, she reserves that right and we’re going to help her do it.”
– Steve Hamilton, President of Spruce City Wildlife Association
Not 24 hours after the cleanup, Hamilton returned to find two truckloads of sod dumped in the area they just cleared.
