Some grant money being doled out by the City of Prince George has been put to good use.
The Downtown core has been seeing some facade and outdoor structural upgrades over the past couple of months, with as many as 7 businesses currently improving their appearances
Executive Director Carla Johnston explains that the $5000 grants have been garnering some real interest from business owners:
“So we’ve had a tremendous response, we have a handful of other sites, say three or four that were hoping to start construction before the snow fell, but of course there’s a challenge finding contractors right now. We have another 20 businesses that we anticipate will be applying for that grant in the spring”
Johnston says many projects are exceeding a twenty thousand dollar total investment, with many businesses putting in a little extra to make their buildings shine.
