The weather couldn’t have been better for the CIBC Run for the Cure this morning.
Survivors and supporters met at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park today to Run (or walk) for the Cure, an annual event that is celebrated across the country to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.
It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause.
According to Jana Peters, communications lead for the event, the event was a success.
“The turnout was fabulous, it’s so great to see so many people out here supporting and coming out for such a dear cause.”
She estimated around 300-400 people showed up to run this year, last year the event raised $42,000.00 in Prince George alone.
