WATCH: PG City council isn’t ‘wasting’ time in considering higher fines

WATCH:

The City of Prince George is still looking for a solution to its illegal dumping problem.

Council has discussed possibly re-opening the Quinn Sreet Transfer station & increasing fines for those caught in the act.

“Some people just don’t care; they don’t want to spend the money to go to the landfill and they think it’s just easier to dump it. It’s not a lot of people that do it, but it’s the people who do it that really don’t care about our environment or the community.”

– Brian Skakun, City Councillor

Skakun also requested for PG council to work with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) to find other solutions to the issue.
