It’s probably the last way the Prince George Spruce Kings thought their four-game winning streak would end.
The BCHL’s Mainland Division leaders struggled against the West Kelowna Warriors during their opening game at the league Showcase in Chilliwack falling by a 4-0 score.
The 2-3 Warriors carried a 1-0 lead into the second period where they exploded for a trio goals from former Cariboo Cougar Mason Richey, Mike Hardman (his second of the game) and Max Bulawka.
The Spruce Kings outshot the Warriors 35-22, including 15-1 in the third period.
Brad Cooper took the loss in goal allowing three goals on 12 shots in just 25 minutes of action.
He was replaced by Logan Neaton.
The 4-1 Spruce Kings are back in action tomorrow (Friday 4:00) against the 2-2 Penticton Vees, also in Chilliwack.
