The Tempest Aviation Group donated $10,000 to Northern BC H.E.R.O.S Rescue Society, Tuesday.
Tempest President Laurie Saindon supports the Helicopter Emergence Rescue Operations Society, saying Northern BC needs a dedicated air-ambulance helicopter service, especially now when another local helicopter company in Prince George is planning to go out of business.
Tempest is a PG-based company that supplies parts for the helicopter industry.
This is part of a funding drive to purchase a rescue helicopter from the United States, which comes with a $3.8 million price-tag, including a heli-pad.
Saindon says air-ambulance service exists in Vancouver, Kamloops, and Prince Rupert, leaving a big gap in Prince George.
