If you get caught looking at your phone behind the wheel, you could be penalized beyond the $167 fine.
Prince George RCMP is teaming up with Community Police and WorkSafeBC to provide vehicle information of business vehicles where the driver is caught using a handheld device while driving.
Citizens on Patrol Coordinator Mike Burt says a warning letter will be sent to the manager or owner of the business and WorkSafe, though it would be up to WorkSafe to take further action.
Burt says Citizens on Patrol recorded 62 distracted driving offenses in October. So far in November, they have found 135 infractions.
