Northern LNG Pipelines receive Environmental approval

Three proposed Northern LNG pipeline projects got a bit of a boost on Tuesday.

As Environment Minister Mary Polak and Natural Gas Development Minister Rich Coleman announced assessment certificates had been granted to all three sites.

Design restrictions have been specified for the three projects, all of which are slated for the Prince Rupert area.

The projects will still require federal, provincial and local government permits to continue, and the Environmental office will be working with other agencies to to make sure environmental concerns and conditions are met.

The collective cost for all three projects is estimated at just under $25 billion dollars.
