Prince George drivers and commuters may have noticed a couple of campaign signs this morning.
The City has officially launched its 10-day nomination period for the 2018 local election as of 9AM.
PG has also enacted its new signage bylaw (no. 8867, 2017), where candidates can only put up campaign signs in any of the 14 designated City-owned properties.
The City says this is not to cause an eyesore to the public, while ensuring their own safety.
Signage areas range from Austin Road in the Hart region to Domano Boulevard in College Heights.

However, signs won’t be seen along Highways 97 or 16, which are provincially owned.
The nomination period closes on September 14th; general voting day is slated for Saturday, October 20th.
