Construction on Central Street West and Highway 97 will begin late Auguest.
The City is partnering with the province for the $400,00 project that will take place between 5th Avenue and 10th Avenue.
The upgrades include:
- Closure of access from the north end of Cenrtal Street West to 5th Avenue, and the addition of a new sidewalk.
- Conversion of the existing right-in/right-out Spruceland Mall access into an off-ramp from Highway 97, with an extended right-turn deceleration lane.
- Construction of a new on-ramp onto Highway 97, 50 metres south of 8th Avenue.
- Decommissioning of the existing right-in/right-out Highway 97access, immediately north of 10th Avenue.
Construction is expected to be finished in October.
