Blog post stirs up a debate for one Prince George Realtor

A blog post from a local Realtor has created quite a debate recently.

Dean Birks published the post earlier this week, and in it, he discusses the effects of the word “North” or “Northern” when referring to the City of Prince George, saying it could perhaps be undermining our marketing attempts, as we are basically on the same parallel of cities like Saskatoon or Edmonton:

“I honestly think the more I did my bits of homework and whatnot and questioned clients, that Northern is probably not suiting us very well. First of all, the fact is that we are not in the North we are dead center basically of British Columbia, and I think that is a much more exciting thing to promote, is that we are in the center of BC”

Birks believes promotion of our central location will far greater impact the growth of colleges, organizations, and businesses here in Prince George, and reminds everyone how perception is reality.
