An Air Quality Advisory has been issued for Prince George.
Meteorologist Barry Watson specializes in Air Quality and says this is because of emissions that are being trapped at the cloud surface due to the strong weather and terrain conditions.
“A significant change in the weather should improve conditions,” he says. “Basically, pollution emissions have accumulated from day-to-day and there aren’t winds blowing that away.”
Watson says people who are sensitive to poor air quality should remain indoors.
Open burning restrictions are also in effect for Prince George.
A freezing rain warning in the Bulkley Valley is also making for icy conditions west along Highway 16.
