Cougar Alumni connect with PG residents

The 7th Annual Prince George Cougars Alumni Hospital Charity Golf Tournament is bringing out old and new alumni from the team.

Residents met and shook the hands of past players for the Northern Capital team and were able to be apart of the unveiling of a wall depicting members who made it to the NHL.

Cougar Alumni Eric Brewer says playing in PG was a big stepping stone in his career.

“It was a lasting piece of life for me and I love coming up here because it is a big part of my existence now. I’m not one to look at a whole lot of pictures of myself but it’s a good reflection of a lot of good things that have gone on here.”

It’s also a good opportunity to connect with the new players who are currently on a career path to the NHL.

“At the end of the day, it is about the experience the guys have and being able to share it with other people and spreading the messages. It is a great place to play junior hockey where you will be treated great and develop on and off the ice.”

Over 20 players made the alumni wall.

The charity is hoping to break its over $100,000 made last year.
