Families looking for some support this Christmas season can look to the Salvation army for some assistance.
The organization is taking applicants for its annual adopt a family program which sees families have their burdens eased ever so slightly.
Business coordinator Bill Glasgow explains how important the program is:
“It matches up a donor to a family who is needing some help this Christmas, and the adopting family would then go out and buy gifts and a Christmas meal for the adopted family who would be able to have a regular Christmas like everybody else”
Glasgow says they expect anywhere between 300 to 500 families in need this Christmas, and that those interested in sponsoring should head in to a Salvation Army branch or call (250)564-4000.
