Technology is being used as a tool to help reduce crime in one neighbourhood.
The Nechako Bench Neighbourhood watch group is using a closed Facebook account, homeowner surveillance as a means of working towards keeping their community and its residents safe.
The neighbourhood is also the first to received revised Block Watch signs that reflects a “Connected Community”.
Coordinator for the watch, Liz Haley, designed the idea to enhance their program while making the system more cost-effective, further minimizing the risk of crime.
