WATCH: PG residents wear purple, walk to raise awareness on elder abuse

WATCH:

Prince George residents are wearing purple and walking to promote World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

According to the Ministry of Health, between 4% and 10% of seniors will experience some form of abuse.

“The key thing is to have people in our community aware. Having communities keep people safe so when we have all of our community members watching out for those who are vulnerable in our community that’s how we keep people safe.”

This is the fourth year the Walk for Awareness of Abuse and Neglect of Vulnerable Adults has taken place in PG.
