College of New Caledonia students gathered to pay tribute to Sandeep Kaur.
A candlelight vigil and moment of silence for the international student was held for the woman who had only been in Prince George for a few months before she was struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 97 Wednesday evening.
CNC President Henry Reiser gave his remarks and reminded students to stay safe around the highway and also said he plans to travel to India to meet with Sandeep’s parents to give his condolences.
The driver of the vehicle, Michelle Dac, has been charged by the RCMP with impaired driving and a court date is pending.
A GoFundMe page was created to raise money to send Sandeep’s body back to India. It’s currently sitting over $40,000.
