Local police are searching for answers following two suspicious incidents the Hart neighborhood over the past few days.
The RCMP responded to a call just after 8 AM on Monday after receiving a report of two people near a school bus stop on Louis Drive.
According to police, a nine-year-old boy was approached by two men who exited a white van with no rear windows and rusty rims.
The men told the boy their keys were broken and needed help – he then ran to a safe location and the van left the area.
Investigators would like to speak to both of them who are described as:
Male 1
- 30 years old
- Caucasian
- 6’0 tall
- Long blonde beard/goatee
- Small nose
- Wearing a grey ball cap and blue hoodie
Male 2
- Appeared Indigenous
- 5’10 tall
- Long black hair in braids
- Average build
- Big ears, big nose, and round face
- Wearing blue t-shirt
The second incident occurred just after 10 AM this morning (Tuesday) where police received a tip that a man had attempted to get two teenage boys into a van where he needed help finding his keys.
Police say this happened just outside Heather Park Elementary School and the boys, who are not believed to be students at the school were seen running away and the van left the scene shortly afterward.
It was also described as white in colour with brown covering the windows.
The man was described as:
- Shoulder-length brown hair
- Beard
- Deep, loud voice
- Wearing a green and red plaid shirt
Prince George police are investigating both incidents and would like to speak with both boys involved in this morning’s encounter.
Police would like to remind the adult public it is not appropriate to approach school-aged children not known to you.
Anyone with information on the three persons or who they might be is asked to contact the local detachment or Crime Stoppers.
