UPDATE: Power restored to more than 5,000 in the Hart

UPDATE:

BC Hydro crews have brought back power to its customers in the Hart region.

More than 5,000 customers experienced the blackout for nearly 90 minutes, ranging from Shelley Road to PG Pulp Mill Road.

The cause is still unknown.

 

ORIGINAL STORY:

BC Hydro is reporting a major power outage in the Hart region.

According to the company’s website, more than 5,000 customers are in the dark.

The affected area includes west of Shelley Road, south of Turner Road, and north of PG Pulp Mill Road.

Spokesperson Bob Gammer says the cause of the outage in under investigation and there’s no word yet on when power will be restored.
