Prince George’s Wood stove Exchange program is back this year.
The provincial government is providing PG $12k dollars to offer $250 rebates to those wanting to replace their old wood stove.
PG Air Improvement Manager Trish Gustafson says it is a popular program;
“Very popular every year, we have been running since 2008 and we have completed 307 exchanges which has resulted in an annual reduction of 20 tons of particulate matter”
Since the program’s inception, the roundtable estimates the program has removed the equivalent of 8800 kilometers of driving from the air.
Four retailers will have the rebates; Furnaceland, Dales Plumbing and Heating, Mainline Plumbing and Heating and Fraser Plumbing and Heating.
