A local woman is making an appearance in court after setting a fire at the hospital Sunday night.
RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass says officers at the hospital were notified of thick smoke coming from a bathroom near the Emergency Room just after 10:00 p.m..
He says the fire was determined to have been set deliberately.
“Information provided at the scene led officers to arresting a 21 year-old female in the Emergency Room parking lot,” he says. “The woman did resist and assaulted one of the officers in the process of the arrest.”
Douglass says the woman is well known to police.
