The Prince George Cougars have released a new logo to celebrate their 25th year.
The logo is just the tip of the iceberg for the quarter-century celebrations, with most of next season’s marketing campaign surrounding the milestone.
“When you look at the last quarter century, we have had so many things, the highs, the lows, the triumphs, the tragedies, the cheers and the tears with this team, we think that there is a significant amount to celebrate so we’re going to be using this theme throughout the entire season,” says Vice President of Business Andy Beesley.
While the new logo will not replace the traditional one, Beesley promises it will be at the forefront of all events and campaigns done in the 2018-19 season.
“We are going to have our traditional logo on the front of the jerseys but will be having the 25th logo on the shoulder patches, the same thing with on the ice it’ll be our traditional logo but you’ll see very prominently displayed the 25th-anniversary logo as well,” he explains.
“We’re going to have a series of merchandise that are very much branded with the 25th-anniversary logo, collector items, and we’ve got some creative ideas around that.”
Alumni nights and weekend celebrations have already been planned to mark the quarter-century of Cougars hockey in PG.
