The College of New Caledonia and the Colleges and Institutes Canada(CICan) are marking the start of two new international capacity building projects in Chile and Peru.
This is part of the Pacific Alliance program, which is a $16 million five-year project funded by the Canadian government.
“This program is called sustainable development in skills for employment in the extractive sector of the Pacific Alliance,” says Brigid Shea, Senior Program Officer for CICan.
“The over arching goal is to improve socio-economic opportunities for men and women in a sustainable and extractive industry.”
This is a great opportunity for both students and the facility says International Project Planner for CNC, Romana Pasca.
“It’s not just about these two new projects. We can open up new initiatives, projects and research. So an exchange of students and exchange of faculty is a great opportunity to establish relationships with people in different institutions around the world.”
Delegates from both Chile and Peru are in Prince George to tour CNC and view demonstrations with trades, DDI technology as well as applied research.
