Home builders project to support Healthcare in the north

A 3084 sqft rancher home will be built and sold with the net proceeds going to the Spirit of North Healthcare Foundation.

CopperFalls Custom Homes established an initiative, along with sub-contractors, suppliers and trades, to build house in the new Aberdeen Glen area of Prince George.

Judy Neiser, CEO for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation says everyone has been touched by healthcare at some point in their life.

“Healthcare does touch and I think working with Northern Health what they’ve identified is that, really if you know what you are up against, we are all going to die, we all are going to be afflicted by something whether it be an accident trauma or disease. I think if you know that then you can look after yourself better and live the best quality of life you possibly can.”

CopperFalls had planned to introduce this initiative a year earlier.

“This year we were ready,” says Owner Jeff Stewart. “We had enough things figured out with our new way of doing things and working each day and feeling a bit more normal, so, we said okay lets pull this off this year. I sent out a feeler email to everybody that was involved with the house to see how it would be received and everyone said they were in.”

The house is currently listed at over $600,000 with CopperFalls hoping to reach close to that amount.

The money will go towards equipment, education and cnhancements to healthcare in the north.
