Human remains found at the scene of a house fire near Fort St. John

The Fort St. John RCMP found human remains while investigating a house fire on Hannaford Road in the Charlie Lake area.

On March 30th just after 3am, RCMP began an investigation into the incident, than at 630am a report came in about the homeowner’s vehicle being on fire on Golf Course Road.

Investigators are calling both fires suspicious.

John Banky, 55, is the homeowner and is considered a missing person. He is described as 5’9″, 190 lbs, with hazel eyes, and red hair.

The BC Coroners Service has yet to identify who the human remains may belong too.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Fort St. John RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
