As part of a $1.8 million investment by the BC government, UNBC will see continued support towards its Wood First program.
From that money, $40,900 is being put towards advancing innovative building methods through education at the university.
“This allows us to continue to have students in this masters program and continually update our curriculum to match where the industry is going,” says Geoff Payne, Vice President of Research and Graduate Programs
“This also supports research and having that research in, sort of, hybrid structures that have wood in them and taking that research and applying it into policy and industry.”
The money comes from $7.8 million made available by the BC government yesterday, at the BC council of Forest Industries Convention, to advance wood use and grow in global markets.
