YXS expecting an up tick of passengers for long weekend

Easter is upon us and many people will take to the sky’s this long weekend.

Typically, March is a busy month for YXS, with people making plans for both March break and Easter.

There’s a few tips people should keep a in mind before going to the airport.

“We always ask passengers to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flight time, this will allow them to travel in a safe manner and not get stressed out waiting in line for checking in,” says Lindsay Cotter, YXS Authority Spokesperson.

The airport is expecting to have a flux of people, not only for Easter, but because the they have been experiencing a steady increase of passenger numbers for this year.

In January, YXS saw an increase of 11 per cent when compared to the same time last year, along with a six per cent increase for the month of February.

“March is traditionally a busy month, especially when you have spring break and Easter long weekend fall within the same month, so, we expect our March numbers to be steady as well.”

In 2017, the PG airport experienced an eight per cent increase compared to 2016.
