Hart Ski Hill recognizes City for financial contributions

List of recognition tiers from $1.5-$3K up to $20+K | Matt Fetinko, My PG Now

The City of Prince George is a double diamond donor for the Hart Highlands Ski Hill. This means the City finds itself in the top tier of donors provided over $20,000 for the popular ski and snowboard destination.

Mayor Lyn Hall accepted a plaque on the City’s behalf Tuesday, as he explains how they helped.

“We were asked quite some time ago to participate in the upgrades here at the ski hill so that they could provide snowmaking equipment and one of the things they needed upgraded was the water supply.”

It was an easy decision for the City, with the ski hill’s longstanding reputation as a top-level local attraction.

“We felt by adding the infrastructure that we did, it would prolong the life of the ski hill and really add to it,” Hall says.

“You never know with the weather conditions from winter to winter when you need to make snow and I think that if it was going to enhance the hill in any way we were certainly on board to do that.”

There are five donor tiers for the ski hill. The red heart is $1,500 – $3,000, green circle from $3,000 – $5,000, blue square at $5,000 – $10,000, diamond from $10,000 – $20,000, and finally double diamond for anything over $20,000.
