ICBC launches new pedestrian safety campaign

Pedestrians across BC are being reminded to look, listen and be seen during the cold and dark winter months.

That’s the message from ICBC, as they have just launched a new pedestrian safety campaign.

ICBC Safety coordinator Diana Pozer talked about a recent survey:

“The majority of pedestrian related crashes happen at intersections, and in our survey 76 percent of drivers and 83 percent of pedestrians said they were concerned about hitting or being hit by a driver at an intersection, yet 75 percent of crashes with pedestrians still occur at intersections”

The majority of pedestrian related incidents occur in the winter months between November to January, which contribute up to 76 percent more injuries compared with June to August.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
