Spirit of the North continues to benefit from annual raffle

The Spirit of the North/Prince George Firefighters Harley Raffle has sold out, equalling last year’s total of $70,000.

The money will go towards a new maternity crash cart.

“Whether we’re on duty or off duty we’re out there to help our community and also the communities around us,” explains Firefighter Coordinator Mark Dorval.

“If we provide equipment to our hospital, it doesn’t just help Prince George it helps all those communities around us.”

This is an annual fundraiser, running for over 30 years, allowing for the winner to get a brand new Harley Davidson.

According to Dorval, however, that’s not the main reason he thinks people put their money into the raffle.

“Some people buy it for the bike, obviously, and winning a new bike would be lovely but I hazard to say that more than not people are just happy to donate to something they know is going to stay in our community.”

The draw will be March 10th at Harley Davidson of PG.
