SD57’s board member Tim Bennett is hoping to be re-elected for a third term as chair.
He’s hoping the public has been happy with his work, and wants to continue creating a strong education for children and youth in PG.
“I just feel that my work isn’t done yet, so, I’ve decided to seek a third term and hope that, come October, the public gives me an opportunity to serve another four years.”
There are a couple of things the board and Bennett are proud of over the last 7 years.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with two really great boards, and I think we’ve done a lot of great things for students in the district. The re-opening of Springwood Elementary is probably one of the biggest highlights. Being able to start this school year in better position than other districts in terms of meeting the supreme court ruling,” says Bennett.
He says looking ahead to next term, there is a lot going on that will have big impact on the communities.
Whether he’s on the board next year or not, Bennett wants a strong group representing SD57.
