Gas prices in Prince George are up 10 cents compared to this time last year.
Right now, prices in the city are at 109.4, with Costco having the lowest at 105.9.
“What you have there is a classic example of the main supplier to the area, Husky and other major companies, competing with your big box store to keep retail margins very low,” says Gasbuddy.com spokesperson Dan McTeague.
Gas prices in March are expected to rise according to McTeague, saying people may see an increase of three to four cents a litre.
“It’s going to be a far more expensive year than 2017, I estimate the average prices will be a little higher than you are paying now. Look for the 115 range best case scenario, perhaps even higher if we see a disruption in the U.S. Midwest.”
Prince George still retains the lowest prices when it comes to gas in all of B.C.
