RCMP have received 17 reports of counterfeit currency being used

Businesses in Prince George are being warned about fake currency being passed around.

Since January 1st, the RCMP have received 17 reports throughout the community about counterfeit currency, specifically $10, $20 and $50 US bills.

Some Canadian currency has also been passed around.

The RCMP are urging staff to carefully check money given to them, especially larger bills.
