Lyn Hall officially opens campaign office

Councillor Lyn Hall had a large crowd in attendance today at lunch today where he officially opened up the campaign office for his mayors bid.

Hall says the current council has lost its connection with the people of Prince George, something he is setting out to change;

“… I’m going to bring a different style of leadership to the table. The style of leadership I had when I was chair of the school district in Prince George. That leadership was inclusiveness… This is not about being a mayor and council for a part of the city. This is the entire city, so when I talk about that reconnection, it’s all about inclusiveness. Certainly not status quo, and I’m not the old guard”

Staying on the theme of connecting with the public, Hall got more specific with an idea for shaking up the structure of City Hall;

“It’s my intent that the new council will have specific roles and we will create liaison roles for our council members. If I could use an example of a senior’s organization; I would like to see one particular council be the liaison to that organization. That’s a different structure than we have seen in city hall for a number of years.”

Prince George goes to the polls November 15th.

Friday was the last day to withdraw for candidates to withdraw their names from the ballot, and only Dawn Taylor pulled out of the race.
