The North District Traffic Service were able to apprehend an impaired driver over the weekend.
On Sunday at 6:51pm, services members on patrol saw a Dodge Ram Pick-up truck driving down highway 97, dragging two snowmobiles that had fallen of the bed of the vehicle.
The driver was unaware of the sparks it was making, and drove several kilometres before being stopped by police near the Old Cariboo Highway and Highway 97 South.
It became apparent to police the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was issued a 90 Day IRP, the truck was impounded and the sleds were securely towed back to town by the tow truck company. The driver was also issued a Motor Vehicle Act violation ticket for insecure load.
