Earlier this year The Central Interior Logging Agency closed the book on a 47 year story that saw its goals reached, and its members in a strong position.
Roy Nagel was a former Executive Director of the association, and explained how the growth and strength of its members contributed to the end of an era:
“It dealt with legislative issues and regulatory things like Worksafe and Commercial vehicle safety and enforcement, as those rules got better and more considerate of logging contractors and trucking contractors the associations need to be more directly and actively involved began to fade a bit”
Nagel says they completed everything they set out to do, and is pleased with what they achieved over the years. He mentioned how things change, contractors got bigger and the CILA simply reached the end of its shelf life.
